Electronic Signature Disclosure

Version 1.1.0 — effective September 11, 2026

This disclosure explains your rights and responsibilities when using Reel Rate™’s electronic signature features. It satisfies the requirements of the U.S. Electronic Signatures in Global and National Commerce Act (“ESIGN Act”) at 15 U.S.C. § 7001(c).

Your Consent to Electronic Records

By using Reel Rate™’s e-signature features, you agree to:

  • Conduct transactions electronically
  • Receive and sign documents electronically rather than on paper
  • Have your electronic signature carry the same legal effect as a handwritten signature

Right to Paper Copies

You have the right to request a paper copy of any electronically signed document. To request one, email hello@reelrate.io with the document name and your signing request ID. Paper copies are provided at no cost.

You can download a copy of any signed document yourself from the app's Vault. If you need help finding one, email hello@reelrate.io with the document name.

Right to Withdraw Consent

You may withdraw your consent to conduct transactions electronically at any time. To withdraw, email hello@reelrate.io. Withdrawal takes effect immediately for future transactions. Withdrawal does not invalidate documents you already signed electronically — those remain legally binding.

Hardware and Software Requirements

To view and sign electronic documents, you need:

  • A device with a modern web browser (Safari 15+, Chrome 100+, Firefox 100+, Edge 100+)
  • Internet connection
  • Ability to view HTML pages and PDF documents
  • Touchscreen or mouse input for signature drawing
  • A valid email address that you can access

If these requirements change, we’ll notify you and give you the option to withdraw consent.

Updating Your Contact Information

You must maintain a valid email address with us to receive electronic signature requests and completion notifications. Update your email anytime in your Reel Rate™ account settings or by emailing hello@reelrate.io.

Audit Trail and Legal Validity

Every electronic signature made through Reel Rate™ includes a complete audit trail containing:

  • Timestamp of when the email was sent, opened, and signed
  • IP addresses of all parties
  • Device and browser information
  • Explicit consent to ESIGN Act electronic signing
  • A cryptographic hash (SHA-256) proving the document wasn’t altered after signing

This audit trail is protected against tampering for as long as it is stored with us. Once written, a completed signature record cannot be altered. We do not guarantee indefinite retention, so download and save your own copy of every signed document as soon as it's completed.

Limitations — When Not to Use Electronic Signatures

Electronic signatures through Reel Rate™ are legally binding for most ordinary commercial contracts. They are NOT appropriate for:

  • Wills, trusts, or testamentary documents
  • Real estate transfers requiring notarization
  • Family law matters (divorce, adoption, custody)
  • Court filings
  • Documents that by law require notarization, wet-ink signatures, or witness signatures

For these documents, consult a licensed attorney and use appropriate signing procedures.
